Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 15, 2025
At Radiix Flare, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our financial modeling education platform. We're based in Taiwan and operate under local privacy regulations, but we believe everyone deserves transparency about their data.
Financial education involves sharing sensitive information sometimes—your career goals, your current skill level, maybe payment details. We get that this requires trust. So we've written this policy in plain language because legalese shouldn't hide what we're actually doing with your information.
What Information We Collect
We collect different types of data depending on how you interact with our platform. Some you give us directly. Some we gather automatically as you use our services.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you're enrolling in paid programs, we'll also need payment information—though we use third-party processors for that.
Educational Data
Your progress through our courses, quiz results, project submissions, and interaction with learning materials. This helps us personalize your experience and track your development.
Technical Information
Browser type, IP address, device information, and how you navigate our site. Standard web stuff that helps us fix bugs and improve performance.
Communications
When you email us, fill out contact forms, or participate in our discussion forums, we keep records of those interactions to provide better support.
Information We Don't Collect
We don't track you across other websites. We don't sell your data to advertisers. We don't collect sensitive categories of personal information unless you explicitly provide it for a specific educational purpose.
How We Use Your Information
Everything we collect serves a specific purpose. Here's what we actually do with your data:
- Deliver our educational programs and track your learning progress through courses and assessments
- Process payments and maintain transaction records for financial modeling courses and materials
- Send you important updates about courses you're enrolled in, schedule changes, and platform announcements
- Respond to your questions and provide technical support when things aren't working right
- Improve our course content based on how students interact with different learning materials
- Prevent fraud and maintain security of your account and our platform
- Comply with legal requirements in Taiwan and international educational standards
We won't use your information for unrelated marketing or share it with third parties for their promotional purposes. If we want to tell you about a new course, that's directly related to why you signed up in the first place.
Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act Compliance
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, we're required to inform you that we collect personal data for educational service provision and improvement. You have specific rights under Taiwanese law regarding your personal information.
Our legal basis for processing your data includes: contract performance (delivering courses you've enrolled in), legal obligations (tax records, identity verification), and legitimate interests (improving educational content, platform security).
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We work with a limited number of third-party services to run our platform. Each one has been vetted for security and privacy practices.
Service Providers We Use
- Payment processors for handling course enrollment fees securely without us storing full payment details
- Cloud hosting services to store course content and maintain platform availability
- Email service providers to send course updates and important notifications
- Analytics tools to understand how students use the platform and where we can improve
These providers can only access data necessary for their specific function. They're contractually prohibited from using your information for their own purposes.
When We Must Share Information
Sometimes we're legally required to disclose information—responding to valid legal processes, protecting against fraud, or enforcing our terms of service. We'll notify you about these requests unless prohibited by law.
If Radiix Flare is acquired or merges with another company, your data would transfer to the new entity. We'd notify you beforehand and ensure they honor this privacy policy.
Your Privacy Rights
You have significant control over your personal information. Under both Taiwan law and our own policies, here's what you can do:
Access Your Data
Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 30 days of your request.
Correct Inaccuracies
Update incorrect or incomplete information in your account settings, or contact us to make changes to data you can't edit yourself.
Delete Your Account
Request complete deletion of your account and associated data. We'll remove everything except records we're legally required to keep for tax or regulatory purposes.
Restrict Processing
Ask us to limit how we use your data while you're verifying its accuracy or contesting our processing activities.
Data Portability
Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format that you can transfer to another service provider if you choose.
Object to Processing
Opt out of certain types of data processing, particularly for marketing communications or analytics that aren't essential to course delivery.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page. We'll respond within 15 business days and complete most requests within 30 days.
Data Security Measures
We protect your information using industry-standard security practices. That includes encryption, secure servers, and regular security audits.
Technical Protections
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission between your browser and our servers
- Encrypted storage for sensitive information like passwords and payment details
- Regular security patches and updates to all systems and software
- Restricted access to personal data—only employees who need it for their job can see it
- Automated backups with encrypted storage to prevent data loss
But let's be honest—no system is completely impenetrable. We do our best to protect your data, but we can't guarantee absolute security. You play a role too by keeping your password secure and logging out of shared computers.
Data Breach Protocol
If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify you within 72 hours. That notification will explain what happened, what data was involved, and what we're doing about it. We'll also inform Taiwan's relevant authorities as required by law.
Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it. Different types of data have different retention periods.
Active Accounts
While your account is active, we maintain all your educational data, progress records, and account information. This lets you pick up where you left off even after breaks from the platform.
After Account Closure
When you close your account, we delete most personal information within 90 days. Some data sticks around longer for legitimate reasons—financial records for tax purposes (7 years under Taiwan law), anonymized analytics data that can't identify you, and any content you posted in public forums that other students may have relied on.
Inactive Accounts
If you haven't logged in for three years and haven't responded to our reminder emails, we'll close your account and begin the deletion process. We'll send multiple notifications before this happens.
International Data Transfers
Our servers are primarily located in Taiwan, but some of our service providers operate globally. This means your data might be processed in other countries with different privacy laws.
When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards—standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions where available, and ensuring our partners meet strong privacy standards. Your rights under Taiwan law still apply regardless of where data is physically stored.
If you're accessing our platform from outside Taiwan, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to and processed in Taiwan under this privacy policy.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies—small text files stored on your device—to make the platform work properly and understand how people use it.
Essential Cookies
These keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and maintain security. You can't opt out of these because they're necessary for basic functionality.
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand which course materials are most helpful and where students get stuck. These are optional—you can disable them in your account settings.
We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Your browser's "Do Not Track" signal is respected for all non-essential tracking.
Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for adult learners and finance professionals. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 years old. If you're under 16, please don't create an account or submit personal information.
If we discover we've accidentally collected data from someone under 16, we'll delete it immediately. Parents who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us right away.
Changes to This Policy
We update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform.
The "Effective Date" at the top shows when this version took effect. We maintain an archive of previous versions if you want to see what changed.
Continuing to use the platform after we post changes means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.
Questions About Your Privacy
If anything in this policy is unclear, or you want to exercise your privacy rights, reach out to us. We actually read these messages and respond personally.
